How to become a member?

To start with, a person interested in becoming a members will need to make contact with the Regional Chief Chaplain of their region, or one of the working committee members, or Directors. They need to inform them of their desire to join the chaplaincy.  They will then be interviewed by one of the mentioned members, for consideration.   When the interview process has been completed,  the person wishing to join will start to work under the guidance of a supervising chaplain that will assist the applicant by introducing them to the ministry.  It is important that the applicant has a clear understanding of the purpose of this ministry. As part of the application process, the applicant will undergo the basic chaplaincy training course.  This will give them the needed building blocks for starting in this ministry.  Should the applicant after completion of both the probation practical time requirements, and the basic Chaplaincy course wish to apply for membership, they may then apply officially.  This application process will be explained during the course, and probation time.

The Regional Chief Chaplain will appoint the supervising Chaplain to the learners, who will mentor the learner during his / her practical component of training.

***  PLEASE  NOTE:  Although any person may do the course, completion of the course does not automatically mean that you will become a chaplain. For Example, you need to be 25 years old, or older before you may apply. Please look at the application form as found under the document section to see more details.***
