CHIEF TRAINING OFFICER
EMERGENCY SERVICES CHAPLAINCY SOUTHERN AFRICA

In 1991 he started his fulltime studies in Theology and became a minister of religion of the
Baptist Union of Southern Africa in 1995. He started his ministry as full-time, but volunteer,
Chaplain to the Emergency Services in the then Roodepoort and Johannesburg Fire Brigades,
becoming the Chief Chaplain of the City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services in
July 2000.
On the 1st of May 1996 he was one of the original 8 founder members of the Emergency Services
Chaplaincy (Southern Africa) and was appointed as its first Treasurer.
Since the growth of the ESC the position of Executive Officer was created, which later was changed to
Chief Executive Officer, and he was elected as the first EO / CEO of the ESC.
In January 1998, after the death of another founder member, Stan Esterhuizen,
who was the ESC’s first Training Officer, he was appointed as the Training Officer of the ESC.
Due to the growth of the ESC, more training officers were appointed and Frank was then appointed
as Chief Training Officer.
On the 16th of August 2008, Frank was appointed as Chief training officer of the ESC(SA), and the position of CEO of the ESC(SA)
went to Allister Clark
He currently resides in Tshwane (Pretoria) with his wife Sharon.
